Montgomery County Partners with Launch Workplaces to Manage Silver Spring Innovation Center

SILVER SPRING, Md., July 16, 2018 – The Silver Spring Innovation Center, located at 8070 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, is under new management and will soon be remodeled.

 

Montgomery County is contracting out the management of its facility to Launch Workplaces, a company known for its hybrid workspace centers for small businesses and entrepreneurs in the region.

 

“This is a win/win,” said County Executive Ike Leggett. “The transition to a private sector management firm is part of the County’s new strategy to foster private sector involvement when it comes to attracting and retaining businesses and growing the economy.”

 

As part of the partnership, both Montgomery County and Launch Workplaces will be upgrading the 20,000-square-foot Innovation Centerto benefit clients and to enhance operations. The facility can house about 20 digital media and technology start-up companies. The three-year contract expires June 30, 2021.
