Cyber Security and Technology at bwtech@UMBC North Campus
bwtech@UMBC North is a five building, 41-acre university-affiliated business park, with over 350,000 square feet of Class A office and laboratory space designed for technology companies and research institutions. The Cyber Incubator , the Northrop Grumman Cync Program, and the CyberHive is located within bwtech@UMBC North campus. The three cyber security incubation programs were created to deliver business and technical support to early stage companies providing cybersecurity-related products and services. The Northrop Grumman Cync Program builds on bwtech@UMBC’s successful business-incubation framework by offering a “scholarship program” for companies with the most promising cybersecurity ideas. Located directly adjacent to the UMBC campus and minutes from BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, the Park is convenient to a number of federal agencies and research centers such as NSA, NIH, FDA, DOE, The Johns Hopkins Hospital and the University of Maryland Medical Center. bwtech@UMBC companies also benefit from the Park’s federal HUBZone and state Enterprise Zone designations. From incubators to co-working environments to full office suites for mature companies, cybersecurity is an integral part of our environment. The Cyber Incubator provides business assistance services including office hours with our Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, training programs such a the Government Contracting Institute with TargetGov, access to UMBC student internship subsidy programs, and collaboration opportunities with UMBC faculty.
